Bayshore Mid-Summer Cocktail Party
In May, Bayshore Shopping Centre announced a $200-million redevelopment project that will expand their present retail space by 160,000 square feet. Slated for completion in 2015, the massive renovation and expansion project is expected to boost the city’s economy and create 400 new full-time permanent jobs in Ottawa’s West End. In addition, 56 new stores will be created. Considering Ottawa was eighth on MSN Travel’s list of worst-dressed cities in the world, that’s a big deal for the city.
Following the mall’s groundbreaking event, I received an invite to their Mid-Summer Cocktail Party to celebrate the launch of the QR code (picture the bar code that one uses to scan a Blackberry PIN) that links people to the redevelopment website, http://www.bayshorereborn.com.
The guest list included a who’s who of Ottawa’s professional community such as former Canadian news anchor and Humanitarian Max Keeping, Bayshore’s General Manager Denis Pelletier, Rogers Daytime Ottawa Co-host Lois Lee, Angie Seymour of Angie’s Models, Bayshore’s Media Host & Promotions Coordinator Tia Borden, Bayshore’s Marketing Director Angie Russell, and Osolee jewelry founder & Interior Decorator Lee-Ann Lacroix.
While DJ Ilon provided the music, guests mingled and posed for pictures. There was no shortage of bubbly and an impressive selection of tasty hors d’oeuvres was served by gorgeous models, not to mention a fantastic giveaway from Jubilee Jewellers for a $250 bracelet.
To say that the party was a hit would be an understatement! The evening proved to be an overwhelming success thanks to Ottawa’s premier PR and event planning firm, Blackbook Lifestyle.
Until next time,
