This year, I’m all about getting out of my comfort zone and trying new things; so when I found out about Summerlude via Twitter, I decided to check it out. #Summerlude is basically a social networking party that enables you to meet new people and make great connections.
On Monday (June 11), Mary Taggart (@Ottawaathomemag), editor of Ottawa At Home Magazine, hosted the second annual #Summerlude event on the rooftop patio of the Hard Rock Cafe, located in the Byward Market.
The tweetup brought together some of the city’s hottest women in fashion, television, marketing, and entertainment including: Daytime Ottawa co-host Lois Lee (@LoisLeeTV), CTV Morning Live host Lianne Laing (@liannelaing), the hilariously funny Grace Odumo of Social PR/613style.com (@GraceSOCIALPR), Christina Selin of McCaffrey Haute Couture (@davidmccaffrey), designer Stacy Bafi-Yeboa (@KaniaCouture), Revolution Organics Cosmetics co-founder Melissa Shabinsky (@revolution_girl), Events and Marketing Specialist Samantha Moonsamy (@starfishevents), and Culinary Artist/Ottawa At Home writer Korey Kealey (@Foodthought), among others.
There were tons of laughs as over 100 guests enjoyed live music courtesy of Ottawa band Babes for Breasts, sunshine and sangria, not to mention some pretty delicious appetizers. My personal favorite were the mini meatballs!
Additionally, a few lucky ladies—including myself—walked away with fun door prizes.
I won this box of lip glosses from Revolution Organics Cosmetics. Ooh la la!
While Grace induced herself into a food coma, I hijacked her camera and took photos of a few of the fabulous people in attendance. Check out the gallery below:
Summerlude was the perfect way to kick-off summer in the city and if I didn’t, I hope to see you next year!
