FLAUNT Ottawa 2015
Last Sunday (June 7), the 4th FLAUNT Ottawa was held at Otto’s BMW on Hunt Club. This year’s edition was dedicated to local charities, including Naylah’s Legacy and Dreams Take Flight. Naylah’s Legacy is dedicated to supporting UNICEF in raising awareness and funds towards maternal, newborn, and child health; Dreams Take Flight is a volunteer-led non profit committed to providing the trip of a lifetime to physically, mentally or socially challenged children. The event also honoured the memory of Jennifer “Jeney” Wolchuk, who recently passed away in a tragic car accident, leaving behind her husband Derek and two sons, Kaius and Roane.
In addition to supporting those great causes, there were live runway shows from emerging Canadian designers such as Zarucci, Rachel Sin, Bôhten and Gwen Madiba, to name a few. DJ Mayhem kept things in full swing while guests mingled and shopped local brands. FLAUNT had it all! You could even get your tresses styled by one of three hair stylists on site from Syn Sue, Rinaldo’s and Curly Designs.
One of our favorite stations was the makeup bar. Ottawa MUA Anthonia gave mini makeovers and makeup tips on how to turn a day look into night. She gave me a soft smoky eye with light pink lips and bit of blush, the perfect day-to-night beat if you don’t have a lot of time to spend on your makeup—or in my case after a 4 hour drive back from Toronto. If you’re wondering, my necklace is from H&M and the dress is by Marciano.
Congrats to Stacey on another successful event! FLAUNT was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Thanks to Annette and Yahdini for the awesome photos. You can check out a few more style snaps in the gallery below:
