WHAT SHE WORE: Michelle Obama’s DNC 2012 Tracy Reese Dress & J. Crew Suede Pumps
On Tuesday night (September 4), First Lady Michelle Obama delivered the opening speech at the Democratic National Convention held at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina. She wore a custom-made sleeveless Tracy Reese dress that showed off her famously toned arms, paired with J. Crew ‘Everly’ Suede Pumps in “Rhubarb” ($245) and a matching manicure using Artistic Colour Gloss Soak-Off Colour Gel in “Vogue.”
The silk jacquard dress is a blend of hot pink, rust, and copper and features a blue-gray trim around the hem.
Mrs. Obama is a huge fan of the African-American designer and has worn her pieces on over a dozen different occassions. In an interview with the Today show, Reese said that fans could expect to see the dress in stores for under $500.
Her signature side-parted hair and Kimberly McDonald moonstone and diamond drop earrings completed the First Lady’s elegant look.
