UPDATE: Chris Brown & Drake’s NYC Club Brawl
Details are still emerging about the alleged club brawl between Chris Brown and Drake last week. As a result of Thursday night’s incident, the NYPD has shut down NYC hot spots W.i.P. and Greenhouse, citing multiple code violations.
Drake’s camp has since released a statement denying the rapper’s involvement.
“Drake did participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night [June 14] at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began. He did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.”
According to reports, the fight was actually “entourage vs entourage.” But Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos claims that he’s “turned over evidence that clearly demonstrates that it is Drake who instigated all of this.”
Rapper Meek Mill—who was also partying at the club that night—denied any involvement, telling XXL Mag:
“Chris and Drake, them two was there but its other people that be around that take shit to the next level. Things just happen in the club. I seen girls in there throwing bottles, all types of shit. All types of people. I never seen Chris Brown or Drake throw a bottle and I was there.”
San Antonio Spurs’ Tony Parker, Chris Brown’s bodyguard Big Pat, and his girlfriend Karreuche Tran were among several people injured during the incident. Tran reportedly suffered a concussion and Big Pat sustained a head wound that required 18 stitches.
Meanwhile, one clubgoer says she plans to sue.
As of press time, no arrests have been made.
