Tiger Woods Wins First Golf Tournament In More Than 2 Years
On Sunday, Tiger Woods won his first tournament since news of his infidelities broke more than two years ago. The golf pro won the Chevron World Challenge after he birdied his last two holes, making a six-foot putt on the 18th, to defeat 2007 Masters champion Zach Johnson.
This was Tiger’s 83rd win worldwide and first since he won the Australian Masters back in 2009. As a result, he’s jumped from No. 52 to No. 21 in the world golf rankings.
“It feels awesome,” said Woods, who donated the $1.2 million in prize money to his foundation. “It was a lot of fun coming down the stretch.”
